This charming older home has 2 very private suites, and is perched on the side of a hill on the very edge of Van Anda Cove – with fabulous ocean views. Rosebank Cottage is located in the tiny village of Van Anda, with picturesque views of the old government wharf, and beyond to Georgia Strait and Powell River.
Facing east, the suites greet the morning sun with spectacular sunrises. The fully furnished suites have separate private decks with BBQs, cable TV and WiFi, and private entrances. The larger Blue Suite also has a full kitchen and laundry facilities. The cozy Quarterdeck sleeps 2 and presents ocean views even from in bed!
Texada island is the largest of the Gulf Islands (except Vancouver Island) and is situated between Powell River on the mainland, and Comox on Vancouver Island. It is well served by BC Ferries (car ferry) to and from Powell River. Access is also available by air travel to the airport in Gillies Bay, and private boat anchorage is available at the Van Anda marina, which is a 10 minute walk from our location.
The population of this large island is about 1200 people year round, with more in the summer. Texada gets more hours of sunshine and less rain than either Powell River or Comox – it definitely deserves its designation as the most northerly part of the Sunshine Coast! Winters are generally mild, but winter storms can be spectacular, especially with the unimpeded ocean view!
